Started working on the script for the hour long show tonight. Paul was due to do the script but has dropped out at the last minute. Luckily we as a group had made plans for such a thing to happen.

Got a lot of work to do, but I will get it done in the short space that I have been given

Vox Pops

went and got vox pops today. Getting people to give me a stereotype of a young father went rather well. Everyone has an opinion.

edited all the vox pops and logged also.

Just to record the package now. My script is done, getting worried abou time constraints, but i am sure I will get it done in time

Vox Pops

After the group meeting today, I discussed that I felt my package needed something extra, other than just interviews.

We spoke about some sfx of kids playing, and I like that idea, but I was thinking of getting vox pops. The vox pops I was thinking of getting are peoples stereo types of Young Dads. The interviews I have all talk about stearotypes in way or another and I think that this could tie them in.

I am going to get some tomorow, and see if they fit in with the package.

- Paul : has sent a text saying that he’s not well, so he can’t be here, but he said that his package will be ready for Tuesday 2nd june.

Presents :

- Gary: suggest to everyone in the group to e-mail a summery of their packages script so we can write a new script for the 1 hour show.

All interviews done and logged in, and staring writing the script.

- Donnie: Editing the interviews, and arranged for last interview on friday at 10 am.

- Momo: finished all interviews and working on the script, so its all going to plan will record the package today

Interview with Young Dad

Had my interview with the young dad on Friday, Stephen. He give me a really god insight into young dads and also a young dad who went into a group for young dads.

The interview has been edited and logged, the interview was done outside and also with stephen’s young son there. The itnerview has sounds good, and he talks about being a young dad and the support he has been given, and also childcare.

Minutes from meeting on Monday the 18th of May. Becs was unable to attend, and we have made plans just in case she can not makwe it in on the 2nd of June.

Minutes 18/5/09

Apologies- Bex

Gary- Has a final interview scheduled for Friday, is editing his other interviews, has started working on his script and is researching the legality issues on reading a written passage at the start of his package.

Callum- Has two interviews edited and logged, he has an interview today and is working on his script.

Paul- has 3 interviews recorded and has contacted other potential interviewees. He is also working on his script

Donnie- Two interviews are done. Is contacting people for a final interview. He also is going to be working on his script

Momo- All audio is collected and is writing his script.

Scott- Has one interview and will be recording one today is looking for a local record label for his third interview. Has began writing his script.

As bex has not been in for a while Paul will now be presenting and writing the script for the hour show

The recording date for the hour show has been moved to the 2^nd of June

While thinking about the script for my package I got a telephone call from Peter Johnston, the man I interviewed last week. Well he has kindly given me 4 books on young dads and their is some great information.

They are: Inter-professional approaches to young fathers,supporting young fathers, young men understanding fatherhood and also young fathers project.

There is a passage in one of the books and it contains a letter from a young mum to a young dad. The letter seems to be the “norm” according to the book. I need to check the legality of using it and how I can incorparate it into the package but I would love to include it.

New Interview Arranged

I have managed at last to get a young dad to interview. I am meeting with him next Friday to talk about the help ans support he has been giving and how he feels about being a young Dad.

Started editing my interviews from last week. They are getting there. I have a rough idea as to what I want.

I need to get the sound of a fe kids playing to start the package. Will talk to the local nursery asap to see if it is possible.

Group Meeting

We had a group meeting today. Everyone seems to be heading in the right direction. We discussed the people absent, as we only have two weeks left to get all our recording done.

We agreed as a group that Callum was going to try and get in contact with the absentees and if that did not work then, we would go on without them. The plan is to ask the other group for two packages that are fitting to our package, and give our guest on the day a bit more time. This will all depend on wether we can get in contact with the people or not, or even how far they are with their package.

- Gary: Has 2 interviews recorded, and still to record one interview with a high school teacher this Wednesday coming.

- Donnie: Still to contact job centre, citizen advice bureau, and the Scottish parliament.

-Callum: Has Arranged 2 interviews with the business editor of the guardian newspaper, and a full time employee.

- Momo: Recorded all the interview and finished logging sheet, last week recorded 2 interviews with a taxi owner and a blind person who uses public transport.

Action plans for this week:

Callum will contact some of the absent people on our group.

Gary will edit and log his interviews.

Momo will contact one or two gusts for the 1 hour show.

Interview with Pete Johnston

I Interview Pete Johnston on the 7th of May. The interview went very well, with great conversation regarding young Dads, the information gathered I believe is very good. Pete was great and also said if I had any further questions I could just call him. He is going to sort out a meeting with a young dad as well.

Going to be editing the materiel and logging it ASAP.
